Sunday June 9 (12:00-4:00pm): Community Foot Prints Event

Join us for our first annual Community Foot Prints Event on Sunday June 9th, 2019 from 12:00 to 4:00pm, at the Rockingham Ridge Plaza (30 Farnham Gate Road).

Why footprints? The “ecological footprint” is a tool used for measuring our personal impact on the environment, and by showing this measurement, aims to foster a more sustainable approach to living. Our event’s symbolic footprints combine the ecological footprint with the union of community, enjoyment of nature, environmental appreciation, and physical activity. Healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy Earth.

Part of the HNWTA mandate is to connect community members and to act as stewards for the environment; this event will unite like-minded organizations in a community celebration. Visitors will be enriched with education, social opportunities and with becoming involved/participating community members.

Thanks to the generous corporate sponsorship of Foot Solutions, New Balance, Clarks, and Vasque, there will be many opportunities to win socks, sneakers, hiking shoes and more. If you sign up or renew your HNWTA membership at the event, you will be entered into a draw to win new trail shoes from New Balance and Vasque. Grab an event passport, visit every booth, learn, have fun, and get entered for a chance to win many more exciting prizes!

This event is part of Halifax Bike Week! So stop by the Bike Again! and Welcoming Wheels booth for cycling information. Thank you to Halifax for the Bike Week grant funding for the bike prizes at this booth!
